Rose

The original production of Rose took to the stage at the National Theatre, and on Broadway, both during 1999. It was shown digitally in the early days of the pandemic. Now, more than 20 years after it premiered, Rose is just as relevant as we see heartbreaking stories about refugees every day in the media. Maureen Lipman brings Rose’s story to life in this powerful and unusual production, covering the time from the hell that was Nazi-occupied Europe to the complete contrast of the American Dream. The play is directed by Scott Le Crass, designed by David Shields with musical composition and Sound design by Julian Star and lighting design by Jane Lalljee.

Rose enjoyed sell-out runs during 2022 at the Hope Mill Theatre in Manchester and London’s The Park Theatre. Now Lipman is back to reprise her critically acclaimed role, bringing Martin Sherman’s masterpiece to life once more. It’s on at the Ambassador’s Theatre for just 28 performances, kicking off on Tuesday 23rd May 2023 for a limited four week run.
